"I was drawn right into Captive Hearts and couldn't put it down. Lissa Michaels has a refreshing creative ability of conjuring up new planets and the exotic life styles that go with them. She's done a remarkable job with her characters, and has a knack for writing the wickedest but most intriguing villain you'll ever see.
"I loved Morgan, the hero and thought she did a great job with portraying the heroine, Ariana's internal conflicts as well. The storyline worked well and was very believable as well as the relationship between Morgan and Ariana.
"Whether it's a new language, sanitizers, strange food or magnetic braces for a cripple, she has created a new world that'll capture you and draw you in. It amazes me at the things she comes up with.
"If you like romances set on other worlds, or want to slip into a fantasy of master and slave then you'll love Lissa Michaels' Captive Hearts. I give this my highest rating and suggest you pick up a copy today."

"Adventure, danger and passion grace each page of CAPTIVE HEARTS and I very much enjoyed it. CAPTIVE HEARTS is so much more than a SCI FI adventure. It's a story of betrayal, trust, loyalty and love. The creation of the fictional worlds, and the various alien races was well done, and the characters were entertaining and believable within the context of the story. The story was well paced and adventurous with never a dull moment. The romance was not overshadowed by the well-told SCI FI adventure and blended well into the story as a whole. I would recommend CAPTIVE HEARTS to anyone that enjoys a good romance, sci-fi adventure, or a combination of the two. Readers in either the romance or SCI FI genre will not be disappointed."

Very Highly Recommended
"CAPTIVE HEARTS is listed in the publisher's romance section, and it is a wild and captivating romance, but it is also an exciting escape from the ordinary in science fiction. The author skillfully depicts a world, with a minimum of words, and plunges the reader into non-stop action, a completely credible plot, and introduces likable, resourceful characters. And Ms. Michaels has a deft hand with the dastardly villain, Grader.
"It's a great book, so I recommend you spoil yourselves, grab it, and enjoy. I certainly did."

"Like so many great books of late, CAPTIVE HEARTS crosses genre and does it with elan and grace, so much so that I doubt any died-in-the-wool SF fan would fault it for having a great romance. And on the other hand, I'm sure the romance readers will love every word and enjoy their all too brief visit to a future and diverse worlds that live only in Ms. Michaels marvelously creative imagination.
"My only question, and it's an important one is: Is there going to be a sequel? Maybe if I beg? It's a great book, Ms. Michaels. Congratulations!"

Excellent!
"I wasn't sure what to think at first when I picked up CAPTIVE HEARTS. I've read all sorts of romance but CAPTIVE HEARTS may have been my first with a science fiction setting. I'm not sure. If I've read others then perhaps this one struck me the way that it did because it could stand as a science fiction novel with a romantic plot instead of a romance set in the future.
"I found Lissa Michaels' settings to be enthralling. The future that she envisions is one that has similar elements to other SF scenarios but one that, as a whole, is made complete by the majority of unique elements that she brings to life. I would love to read more. Sequel, Lissa?
"Now, on to the romance. Lissa, as have other Hard Shell authors, gifts us with a strong heroine and strong hero. Ariana (what a lovely name) and Morgan seem to be people destined to passion but passionate hatred. Morgan is the Bellarissian Crown Prince. Ariana is the Administrator of the Alliance planet Cantara. Morgan and his people want to overthrow the Jotnar for whom Ariana works.
"Circumstance brings the two of them together allowing them to discover each other and that their passion can be better fueled by their love, and similarities, than by the passionate hatred engineered by their planetary origins.
"CAPTIVE HEARTS is a powerful book with definite cross-genre appeal. Plus, a strong candidate for screenplay or teleplay adaptation."

5 Stars
"Powerful and emotional, Lissa Michaels' Captive Hearts captures the reader's imagination from the first page. Morgan and Ariana are heroic and brave, and the reader is swept along with them into treachery, battle and love."
—Rickey R. Mallory, Affaire de Coeur
"Captive Hearts is a fast-paced, entertaining read. Lissa Michaels doesn't linger with lengthy explanations of her complex futuristic world, instead pulling the reader through with just enough detail to clarify, but not enough to slow down the rapid action. Morgan and Ariana are likable characters with believable conflicts, and Grader is wonderfully awful. Captive Hearts will please futuristic fans, and might even win some converts to this unfairly ignored subgenre."
—Katriena Knights, CompuServe Romance Reviews
"Credit Lissa Michaels with a rare imagination. Morgan and Ariana are characters worth knowing, and readers will find that Captive Hearts lives up to its title."
—Denise Dietz Wiley, author of Dream Dancer
"Captive Hearts is a futuristic story by new author Lissa Michaels. Ms. Michaels shows great promise in being one of the shining stars of the future. Her writing is crisp, exciting and leaves readers wanting more. All futuristic fans will enjoy this one."
